THE BASICS
Haus is a beverage brand creating better products for the modern drinker, originally founded by Helena Price Hambrecht and Woody Hambrecht in 2019. The alcohol industry hasn’t changed in 100 years, so Haus is on a mission to redesign how it works — from the ingredients used, to the way the bottles are shipped directly to your doorstep.
We’ve started with a line of apéritifs. They’re created with only natural fruits, herbs, and botanicals, and are low-ABV (alcohol by volume) in keeping with apéritif tradition. All of our products are crafted in Sonoma, CA.
Apéritifs are just the beginning, so sign up for our newsletter to be the first to know about future products.
Apéritifs are a category of spirits with complex flavors that typically come from fruits, herbs, roots and botanicals. They’ve been a big part of European drinking culture for centuries, and they’re becoming more popular in America now too.
They’re low-ABV (less alcohol than whiskey, more than wine), which makes them perfect for enjoying throughout the evening on the rocks or with simple mixers like soda or tonic.
Aperitifs can taste like all kinds of things. In fact, you’ve probably had an apéritif before and didn’t know it. If you’ve had Campari, an Aperol Spritz, a martini or manhattan, you’ve had an apéritif.
Most apéritifs have a complex, herbaceous taste because they’re made with fruits and botanicals. Some of them are very bitter, and some are very sweet. We’re a bit biased, but they're really, really good.
Haus is inspired by European apéritifs, but designed for the American palate.
It's not bitter, and has a fraction of the sugar of similar apéritifs. Each of our apéritifs are complex and sophisticated, with flavor notes coming from a variety of real fruits, herbs, and botanicals in the bottle.
Long story short, it’s mostly illegal. Alcohol laws haven’t really changed in almost 100 years, a time long before the Internet came around. They have a lot of catching up to do.
Believe it or not, Haus was the first company to do this. Ever.
Because we’re an apéritif and under 24% alcohol (our apéritifs range from 15-20% ABV), we can legally bypass most of the federal restrictions on spirits and sell directly to your door. We can also open our own retail shops and bars (stay tuned).
Don't worry, you're not the first to ask. Haus is pronounced "house"

THE PRODUCT
We suggest drinking Haus like you'd drink any other spirit -- straight on the rocks, with soda or tonic, or in a simple cocktail, like a spritz.
Check out our Instagram @drink.haus for some tasty cocktail recipes
We recommend storing Haus in a cool, dark place like your countertop, bookshelf or bar cart.
Each 750ml bottle serves about 10-12 drinks, depending on your pour.
The color in our aperitifs comes from the fruits, herbs, and botanicals that we use to make them. We don’t use any artificial colors - what you see is 100% natural.
Haus is made by steeping whole fruits, herbs, and botanicals in brandy to extract their flavor. Then we blend the extractions into naturally fermented and distilled grapes, along with a small amount of raw organic cane sugar for stability and texture. Because we use fresh fruits, herbs, and botanicals, you may taste very subtle differences from batch to batch.
Haus is gluten free and vegan. All of our products are free of gluten, dairy, lactose, and casein. If you're interested in learning more about what's inside each bottle, you can find detailed nutrition and ingredient info on each product page, too.
None of our products contain allergens like eggs or shellfish. However, we do use coconut in Peach Passionfruit, which is a tree nut, and pink peppercorn in Grapefruit Jalapeño, which is in the cashew family.
If you have a known allergy, we recommend checking the ingredient lists on each product page to make sure you're in the clear, as we use fruits, herbs and botanicals in every aperitif.
We only use real fruits, herbs and botanicals to make Haus, so you may see some naturally occurring sediment in your bottle from time to time. If you're a natural wine drinker, this will look familiar. Rest assured, your Haus is still a-okay to enjoy.

Yes. Bummer we know, but it's the law. However, another adult can sign for you -- so if it's going somewhere with a receptionist (like your office) or a doorman (like your apartment building) you're all set.
Otherwise, make sure you or someone over 21 is home on the day it's supposed to arrive.
Unfortunately we cannot ship to PO Boxes. Because Haus is alcohol, it can only be shipped to a residential or business address.
If you're interested in placing an order for more than 6 bottles, reach out to us at support@drink.haus with what you are interested in ordering and we will get back to you!
OTHER
Yes, all Haus bottles are 100% recyclable.
We like to upcycle them, too. Try repurposing them for candles, flowers, oil or vinegar, or cocktail syrups.
Sustainability has always been at the core beliefs of Haus.
Production is powered by 100% clean, renewable energy. Materials are sourced responsibly with care for forest conservation throughout the supply chain. Our boxes are made from up to 90% recycled material and are 100% recyclable. The material used that is not from recycled material is a byproduct of milling operations that would otherwise be considered waste.
Ingredients are responsibly sourced from farmers and purveyors we know and trust. The raw fruits, herbs, and botanicals we use to create Haus are composted once we've extracted their flavors, leaving very little waste.
We're starting to pop up on the menus and shelves of our favorites bars, restaurants, and retailers in California, and look forward to hosting events around the country again soon as well. If you're looking for Haus in a particular city in California, email us at support@drink.haus and we'll help you out. And you can sign up for our newsletter to be first to know about upcoming events.
